If you’re planning a K-beauty shopping trip in Seoul, Olive Young Central Gangnam Town is one of the most convenient stores to visit. I visited the store in person to check its product selection, layout, promotions, and overall shopping experience.
In this Olive Young Gangnam guide, I’ll show you how to get there, what you can find inside, what may be worth buying, and the practical tips I wish I had known before visiting.
Olive Young Central Gangnam Town – Quick Information
Address: 403 Gangnam-daero, Seocho-gu, Seoul
Nearest subway station: Gangnam Station, Exit 10
Tax refund: Available for eligible international visitors
Visited: August 13, 2026
I took Seoul Subway Line 2 to Gangnam Station, came out of Exit 10, and the store was left outside.
No complicated directions. No walking through small streets. No need to keep checking Google Maps.
Once you come out of Exit 10, you can spot Olive Young almost immediately.
That alone makes this branch a very convenient stop if you’re already spending time in Gangnam.

Inside Olive Young Central Gangnam Town: More Than a Beauty Store
I’ve been to Olive Young many times in Korea.
Most branches are simple.
You walk in, find skincare or makeup, check the promotions, buy what you need, and leave.
So when I went to the Central Gangnam Town branch, I expected basically the same thing — just bigger.
It wasn’t.
As soon as I entered, the store felt much more like a place designed for people who want to explore K-beauty, not just buy something quickly.
There were different floors and sections, popular product displays, beauty experience areas, and things I don’t normally notice at smaller Olive Young stores.

First, I Just Walked Around
Whenever I visit a large beauty store, I try not to pick up a basket immediately.
Because once you start putting things in the basket, somehow everything starts looking necessary.
So I spent the first few minutes just walking around.
There was a lot to see.
Makeup, skincare, hair products, trending items, promotional displays — much more than you would normally want to look through quickly.
If this is your first Olive Young visit in Korea, I would recommend doing the same.
Don’t start shopping immediately.
Walk around first.
Get a feeling for the store.
Then decide what you actually want to look at.

The Global Top Picks Section Is a Good Place to Start
One area caught my attention quite quickly: Global Top Picks.
This section is especially interesting if you’re visiting Korea and don’t really know which Korean beauty brands or products to start with.
There are simply too many choices inside Olive Young.
Even for someone who lives in Korea, it can be a lot.
So I think this kind of section is useful as a starting point.
But I wouldn’t automatically buy something just because it’s in a “Top Picks” section.
I usually look at it this way:
Popular doesn’t always mean right for me.
Take a look, find something interesting, and then check the price, ingredients, promotion, and whether it actually fits your needs.

This Was the Part I Didn’t Expect: Skin Analysis
While walking around, I found a skin analysis area.
This was probably one of the things that made me feel that Central Gangnam Town was different from a normal Olive Young branch.
Instead of only looking at products on shelves, visitors can explore beauty services and learn more about their skin.
For foreign visitors, I think this is actually useful.
When you’re surrounded by hundreds of Korean skincare products, choosing one because “I saw this on TikTok” is probably not the best strategy.
Understanding your skin first makes much more sense.

Then I Found the Touch-Up Bar
Another area I liked was the Touch-up Bar.
This is the kind of thing that is easy to overlook if you’re only rushing through the store looking for a shopping list.
But if you’re interested in Korean makeup, it’s worth slowing down.
Colors and textures look very different in real life compared with photos or short videos online.
Especially with cushion foundation, lipstick, blush, and other color makeup, I would rather check the product in person before buying.

There’s Even an Olive Young Merch Shop
I wasn’t expecting this either.
There’s an Olive Young merchandise area inside the store.
This isn’t necessarily the reason I would come here, but it’s a fun extra section to look around.
It also makes Central Gangnam Town feel less like a normal drugstore or beauty shop and more like a flagship-style retail experience.

One Small Detail Told Me This Store Is Very Used to Foreign Visitors
I also noticed a money exchange machine inside.
It might seem like a small thing, but I found it interesting.
A normal neighborhood Olive Young doesn’t necessarily need something like this.
Here, it makes sense.
Gangnam gets a lot of international visitors, and Central Gangnam Town clearly expects tourists to come shopping.
That’s also why this is a comfortable branch to visit if it’s your first time shopping at Olive Young in Korea.

Is Olive Young Central Gangnam Town Worth Visiting?
For me, yes — if you’re already in Gangnam.
And that’s an important point.
I wouldn’t tell someone staying on the other side of Seoul to spend an hour travelling here just to buy one sunscreen.
There are Olive Young stores everywhere.
But if you’re already visiting Gangnam, this branch is extremely convenient because it’s basically right outside Gangnam Station Exit 10.
And compared with a smaller branch, there’s simply more to experience.
You can:
- browse trending K-beauty products,
- look through larger makeup and skincare sections,
- explore Global Top Picks,
- try beauty-related experience areas,
- and take your time discovering products instead of just shopping quickly.
What I Would Do If I Visited Again
Next time, I would go with a much shorter shopping list.
Maybe three or four things I actually want.
Then I would spend more time looking around the sections I didn’t plan to visit.
Because that’s actually what I enjoyed most about this store.
I went there thinking:
“Let’s take some Olive Young photos.”
But while walking through the store, I started noticing how much Korean beauty retail has changed.
It’s becoming less about simply selling cosmetics and more about giving people a beauty experience.
For foreign visitors, that makes places like Central Gangnam Town much more interesting.
Olive Young Central Gangnam Town Shopping Tips
A few simple tips from my visit:
Use Gangnam Station Exit 10.
The store is right outside, so it’s very easy to find.
Don’t start shopping immediately.
Walk around first.
Check promotions carefully.
A bigger set isn’t always the better deal.
Bring your passport.
If you’re eligible for a tax refund, you’ll want it with you.
Give yourself some time.
This is a bigger Olive Young, and there’s more to see than you might expect.
My Final Impression
I visit Olive Young quite often, so I wasn’t expecting to be particularly surprised.
But Central Gangnam Town was more interesting than I expected.
For someone visiting Korea for the first time, I think it’s a good place to understand why Olive Young has become such a big part of the K-beauty experience.
And if you’re already walking around Gangnam?
It’s an easy stop.
Just take Line 2 to Gangnam Station, Exit 10, walk outside, and you’re basically there.
