Olive Young is an easy stop for skincare shopping in Korea, but its hair care shelves deserve a closer look too. During JUST KOREA’s return visit to Olive Young Central Gangnam Town on October 5, 2026, we photographed the hair and scalp care section to make shopping easier for visitors who do not read Korean.
The shelves included shampoo, hair treatments, serums, hair color kits, brushes and styling tools. This guide shows what we saw and how to tell the categories apart. It is a firsthand store guide, rather than a review of products we have used.

Where is the hair care section?
On our visit, the store’s floor directory listed Hair & Body Care on the third floor. Upstairs, English signs such as HAIR CARE, HAIR COLORING and HAIR BRUSH helped separate the displays.
For the wider store visit, read our Olive Young Central Gangnam Town guide. Check the directory when you arrive, as store layouts can change.

Start by deciding what kind of product you want
Before choosing a brand, decide whether you are shopping for your scalp, the lengths of your hair, hair color or a styling tool. Similar packaging can hide very different instructions.
| Look for | Korean label clues | Check before buying |
|---|---|---|
| Shampoo or scalp care | 샴푸 = shampoo; 두피 = scalp | Exact product type and washing instructions |
| Conditioner, treatment or mask | 린스 = conditioner; 트리트먼트 = treatment; 헤어팩 = hair pack | Whether it needs rinsing |
| Serum, oil or leave-in | 세럼 = serum; 오일 = oil; 노워시 = no-wash | Amount, application area and timing |
| Hair color | 염색 = hair coloring; 탈색 = bleaching | Shade chart, contents and package instructions |
1. Scalp shampoo: look beyond the front of the box
We photographed an AROMATICA Rosemary Scalp Scaling Shampoo display, with both bottles and promotional sets. Other nearby packaging used Korean scalp care wording.
The word “scaling” can be confusing: in this photo, it is part of a shampoo’s name. Do not assume every product with scalp or scaling wording is a separate scrub or a salon-style treatment. Read the full product name and directions.
Compare the bottle size with the total contents of the set. A box may include a refill or an extra bottle, so the shelf price alone does not tell you how much product you are getting.

2. Hair treatments, masks and serums: check rinse-off versus leave-in
The hair care shelves included UNOVE and Mise-en-scène products. A closer photo also shows a Mise-en-scène Perfect Serum tube labelled “Nourishing Leave In Treatment,” alongside Fino Premium Touch hair masks and oils.
These are different product formats. A mask, an oil and a leave-in treatment should not be treated as interchangeable just because they sit together. Check the exact version you are holding, including whether it should be rinsed out.
For example, Olive Young’s official listing for a Perfect Serum Treatment set gives rinse-off directions. That is a different format from the leave-in tube visible in our photo. Follow the instructions on your own package.

Olive Young also carries brands from outside Korea. A product appearing in a Korean store does not automatically make it a Korean brand or a Korean-made product; check the label if origin matters to you.
3. Hair coloring: compare the shade and the product format
The HAIR COLORING wall had boxed dyes in several shades, including Mise-en-scène Hello Bubble and Hello Cream packaging. Separate bleach products were also visible in the photos from this visit.
Check whether you are picking up color, bleach or another product. The model’s hair on the box is a reference image; use the package’s shade information and instructions to understand what the kit is intended for. Ask staff for help reading the label if you are unsure.

4. Brushes and styling tools: useful items to compare in person
We also photographed a HAIR BRUSH section and displays of dryers, straighteners and curling tools. Brushes can be easier to compare in person because you can see their size and shape.
For an electrical tool, check its voltage label and plug compatibility for the country where you will use it. Do not assume a plug adapter changes voltage. Confirm the specifications for the exact model before purchasing.

A quick checklist before checkout
- Read the exact product name, not just the brand.
- Check whether the product is for the scalp or hair lengths.
- Confirm rinse-off or leave-in instructions.
- Compare volume and the contents of promotional sets.
- Recheck the current shelf price and offer conditions.
- Check electrical specifications if buying a styling tool.
Prices visible in our photos are a record of the October 5 visit, not a promise of the price on your shopping day. Stock and offers can differ between stores and the global online shop.
Plan your Olive Young visit
If hair care is on your shopping list, leave time to explore the upper floor rather than stopping after skincare. The English shelf signs and a few Korean label words can help you narrow down what to compare.
